Megabus has ceased all US operations
Once a prominent intercity bus company in North America, Megabus initially launched in the Midwest in 2006 after achieving success in Europe. It quickly expanded to serve numerous cities across the United States and Canada. While Megabus no longer operates in the US, it continues to offer services in Canada.

Megabus User Reviews
Megabus offers a generally reliable service with timely departures and clean buses. Passengers appreciate the sense of safety during their trips. However, some users have noted that reserved seats should be better labeled to avoid confusion, restrooms could use more frequent cleaning, and there were occasional concerns about driver behavior and bus maintenance.
This was a very enjoyable ride. This bus leaves everyday and makes the trip to Greenbay to Madison very easy and inexpensive. I felt like I was on a tour bus. The route was so exciting and I got to see things I would have never known about. The Driver Derrick made the trip! He was so sweet and we had the best conversation. Im used to having delays in travel and the timing on this bus was like clockwork. Very reliable. This trip is a highlight in my travels. I will use this line again when I return. So grateful 🙏

+. Fast, Near the terminal, staff help all questions. -. it's cold on the bus, no phone charger, no WiFi

My journey, wasn’t. I waited in the freezing cold for a trip I booked a week earlier only to find out by another traveler that the trip has been cancelled. I didn’t receive any emails stating this information. So my trip was a No-Go and o had to pay additional money to take 2 buses from other companies instead of 1 from here to get from Wausau WI to Milwaukee WI in time to catch a flight.

I'd enjoyed everything about the ride. The only problem was coming to the city was the snow on the ground. We had to move slow which made our trip a little longer than what they said it was supposed to be. But other than that, excellent trip. Excellent driver

Driver did not approach the designated loading area.I was there 20 min early and waited in the cold. The bus went to a nearby parking area.At the stated boarding time, I expected the bus to go to the bus stop. Instead, he simply drove away. I did not get the ride I needed and will contest the payment.

The trip was canceled without any communication

Megabus FAQ
Megabus buses are usually branded double-deckers, equipped with standard seats, power outlets, Wi-Fi (on most routes), reclining seats, panoramic windows, air conditioning and clean bathrooms. You can choose to sit either on the top or bottom part of the bus, as you select your seats while booking your tickets.
Passengers can bring one large piece of luggage per ticket, as long as it's within 62 inches (length + width + height) and doesn't weigh more than 50 pounds. Each traveler is also allowed one small carry-on that fits in the overhead or under the seat.
No, travelers are not allowed to bring bicycles, skis, snowboards, golf clubs, or musical instruments on Megabus, unless they are in a case that fits within the luggage policy dimensions.
While Megabus does offer an exchange policy for reservation adjustments, it comes with some drawbacks. Making changes online is possible, but only if you have more than 3 hours before your scheduled departure. Additionally, there are trade-in fees ranging from $3.00 to $7.50, depending on how close it is to the departure time. Moreover, there's a $2.99 new reservation fee (or $7 by phone) for changed reservations, which can add up. So, while you have some flexibility, be prepared to handle a few fees along the way. There are no refunds.
Yes, everyone has to pay for a full-priced ticket to travel with Megabus.
Yes, people with limited mobility can travel on Megabus buses. Megabus provides accessible transportation services for passengers with special requirements, including those with walking difficulties and mobility issues.
No, Megabus only allows service animals on its buses.
Though printing tickets is not required, the company advises to bring a printed copy of the confirmation email in order to board the bus.
